POCKLINGTON'S MP has today welcomed the online publication of MPs' expenses covering the last four years.
Details of the claims made by all 646 MPs, including East Yorkshire's Greg Knight, were unveiled yesterday following a string of media revelations.

But Mr Knight told the Driffield Post : "This is how it should have happened in the beginning."

He criticised the coverage of the issue in the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, which he said had published details of MPs' claims in a 'quite salacious' way.

But he stressed that, unlike a number of other MPs whose affairs have been scrutinised, he has not changed the designation of his two homes, a practice known as flipping.

He added: "I am happy to place on record that I have never flipped my homes."

The publication of the MPs' expenses covers the period between the financial years 2004-05 to 2007-08.
