WINDS failed to put off engine enthusiasts who flocked to Pocklington for a car rally.
Scores of vintage and classic vehicles wheeled their way on to West Green for the event, organised by the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club.

As part of the day, a free trip around the local villages was organised on a bus supplied by East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) and demonstrations were organised by Guide Dogs for the Blind.

There was also a presentation to car enthusiast Steve Walker, whose 1973 1300cc Ford Escort has less than 15,000 miles on the clock.

He is the first to receive the Mark Thomas Berriman Award, a shield named in memory of a local car enthusiast who died last year, aged 29.
Pocklington resident and EYTCC member Richard Quinton said: "It was well attended, despite the 65 mph winds which blew the Guide Dogs stand away!"
