Shiptonthorpe Village Hall was the place to be when the Annual BBQ and Grand Raffle Draw was held on Saturday 18 July.

The BBQ was catered for by Langlands Garden Centre and was up the usual excellent standard with everyone enjoying the food.

The raffle raised more than £1,600 with prizes gifted of a Mini Ipad by Drakes Garage, a £100 voucher from Langlands Garden Centre and family tickets by the Yorkshire Air Museum and the Deep, plus other prizes.

The weather was warm and everyone enjoyed the evening.

It was well supported by the village with more than 160 people joining in the fun.

In addition to good food and an opportunity to win a prize, entertainment was also provided by the village musical group and their performance was very well received.

The village hall committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make this such a success.
