A businessman from North Dalton has raised more than £1,000 for charity at his 70th birthday bash held at Driffield Golf Club.

John Ogden, also known as ‘Oggy,’ (pictured, centre, with guests) raised the cash in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind in memory of his late mother who was partially-sighted.

Instead of asking for presents, he asked guests to makes donations, just as he did on his 65th birthday when he raised £2,000, and on his 60th birthday when he raised £1,500.

The evening was also attended by guide dog Bailey and it’s handler Sean Gibson, who gave a short talk about Guide Dogs for the Blind.
