MARKET Weighton Town Council will carry out a street audit throughout the town this month.
The town has been split into six areas and each area will be visited by members of the town council and any problems noted.
Mary McGarry, town clerk, said: "The aim is to look with fresh eyes at any hazards causing annoyance.
"Some streets have reported high incidences of dog fouling which will be reported to the authorities, others may have inconsiderate motorists parking on grass verges, uneven pavements, insufficient dropped kerbs, overhanging branches or a range of different problems.
"In the past the most active residents have contacted the town council or the East Riding and received appropriate attention while other streets may have suffered in silence."
The audit will also look at suitable locations for new litter and salt bins. Each walk will include two town councillors, a member of town council staff and a representative from East Riding council.
The town council is looking for three or four residents to take part in each walk
Mrs McGarry said: "The town council aims to include adults with motorised scooters, pushchairs and walking sticks, as well as able-bodied residents.
"The results will be passed on to East Riding council, the police, or other authorities, if the issues noted are outside the town council's jurisdiction."
The remaining walks in the audit:
Walk Three – Londesborough Road (East) to Finkle Street (West), Thursday April 16, 2.30pm-4pm.
