Smugglers ahoy is fun for the family

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Foreshores Department has teamed up with Rusticus Theatre Arts to present the “Smuggler’s Ahoy” Story Train on Bridlington North Promenade throughout the summer.

Join Publicans Albert and Nora, also known as “The Smugglers” as they evade the evil villain, the Excise Man, who is leading the community of Great Bridlington into a world of poverty and misery by claiming unfair taxes from the local fisherman. Part storytelling, part live action, with plenty of audience interaction, the event is guaranteed to leave you smiling.

The event has had a successful first week, with very positive reponses from those who took part in the activity.

Appealing to audiences of all ages, the Smuggler’s Story Train will depart from the Leisure World Land Train platform and will travel along Bridlington’s North Promenade, taking in some secret locations.

The remaining dates for the Smuggler’s Ahoy Story Train are:

Wednesday, 31 July at 11am and 2pm, Wednesday, 7 August at 11am and 2pm, Wednesday, 14 August at 11am and 2pm, Wednesda,y 21 August at 11am and 2pm,

Wednesday, 28 August at 11am and 2pm.

Tickets cost £5 per person and can be purchased at the Foreshores Office. It is requested that tickets are booked in advance although there may be some availability on the day.

Along with your Story Train ticket you will receive a two for one admission voucher to Sewerby Hall and Gardens valid until 29 September 2013. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note there is limited space for buggies, prams or wheelchairs so you will need to inform us at the time of booking.
