A FUNDRAISING afternoon filled with live music at Burnby Rooms in Pocklington raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

Driffield singing group ‘Middle 8’ provided entertainment for visitors to the rooms, by the gardens, last Saturday, performing a selection of 60s and 70s songs for locals to enjoy.

The event also included an auction, tombola and a tea bar to raise funds for the PSP Association, a charity which supports people with the rare degenerative brain disease PSP, and the related disease Cortico Basal Degeneration (CBD), and those who care for them.

More than £620 was raised on the day.

Event organiser and PSP fundraiser Michael Shepherd, of Sherbuttgate Road, Pocklington, said: “The singers were singing happy songs, they had happy faces, and this made us all have happy faces also and so we enjoyed a happy afternoon.

“I must say a thousand thanks to all our PSP supporters, friends, patients, their families, my transport manager, those who had travelled over 50 miles, and every one involved in any way.”
