A BOY’S brigade troop walked the walk when they came out on top in a hiking competition against other companies from across Hull and East Yorkshire.
1st Market Weighton Boys’ Brigade’s Senior Section team battled through a night hike, a main Saturday hike with full kit and a day of challenges on the Sunday to win the Annual Battalion Challenge Hike competition, based at the Lakeland campsite in Allerthorpe.
The team of youngsters were aged between 14-18.
It is the second consecutive year the Market Weighton company have won the event.
Tom Clayton, company captain of the winning team, said: “The Challenge Hike is one of the toughest competitions in the calendar.
“We are all extremely proud of our team that took part, who have had many hours of training leading up to the event.”
1st Market Weighton Boys’ Brigade is for girls and boys aged five and over and meets every Friday night during term time at St. John’s Methodit Church Hall.
