East Yorkshire renewables specialists, Dodds Limited, has appointed Ian Reynolds as head of its electrical services division.
Ian joins the Bainton-based company from a leading Hull manufacturing business and has 10 years’ experience in the heating industry. He also previously worked in power electronics in the oil, gas and utility sectors.
He is one of several new senior appointments at Dodds in the past few months as the company continues to expand. Since it relocated from the Kelleythorpe Industrial Estate at Driffield to its new headquarters – the Renewable Energy Centre – at Bainton, the company’s workforce has grown to around 50.
Managing director Graham Dodds said Ian’s appointment was something of a coup for the company. He added: “We’re growing at such a pace we need the very best people and Ian comes to us with a great pedigree in the heating industry as well as valuable knowledge and experience in other skill sectors”.
Ian lives at Kingswood, Hull, with (in his words) his “green fingered, culinary wizard and wordsmith extraordinaire, Helen”, and they have two boys, Oscar, 4, and Jason, 11. His hobbies include voluntary work for the Yorkshire 4x4 Response team and the East Yorkshire Emergency Communications Group.
A self-confessed home brew man, he said: “What’s not to like about a satisfying point of brown ale that costs a mere 30p. Our garden is also a small-scale menagerie of vegetable and fruit plants, not least to make sure the boys understand exactly where their food comes from.
“It’s not surprising therefore that I’m delighted to be joining a company such as Dodds where there is a real commitment to renewable energy, using natural resources where possible to benefit our customers and the environment”.
