Signing on gave us a boost
I would like to extend my thanks to your readers for supporting Sue Ryder Care's recent Sign on the Line Campaign and let them all know that it is now an award-winning initiative.
Our retail team, in conjunction with eproductive, was awarded a Third Sector Excellence Award for Enterprise, for our ground-breaking scheme to enable goods' donors to maximise the benefit to charity by signing up to Gift Aid when they choose to donate items.
Sue Ryder Care was the first charity in the UK to apply the principles of Gift Aid to items such as clothes, bric-a-brac and books that the local community generously donates to us. With the help of all our supporters we have already raised an extra £700,000 since Gift Aid was launched last November, smashing all predictions.
Through the Sign on the Line campaign, which is aimed at raising awareness of Gift Aid, people are being urged to clear out their closets for their local shop, sign a form – and help Sue Ryder Care reach its £1,000,000 extra target.
A spring clean and a signature will help Sue Ryder Care help more people living with conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's disease, stroke, brain injury and cancer.
