A Picnic in the Paddock in Thornton has been organised for Saturday 10 May to raise funds for two worthy local charities; St Michael's Church, Thornton, and Kings Mill Special School, Driffield.
The school would like to purchase a specialised shower/changing bed unit for their most profoundly disabled children.
Children from the Pocklington area attend this school which is a God-send for their parents.

The organisers are seeking help fr
om the local business community for sponsorship and items to auction at this event.

Entertainment will be provided by the Pocklington School Swing Band and local duo, Haze, all giving their time freely to help these worthy causes.

Local businesses which feel they might be able to sponsor the event or donate items for auction should call either: Christine Baker on 01759 319308, Alan Blake on 01759 318864 or Ken Cutsforth on 01759 318255 / 07976 606317.

It costs £150 to sponsor the event as a whole, £75 from two businesses would also be appreciated, even £50 from three businesses.
The sponsoring business name/s will be printed on all posters, tickets and banners.

There will also be a tombola at the picnic, donations of prizes welcome from anyone able to kindly help
.
Again, please call any of the organisers named above who will be happy to collect donations, or discuss this further. Thank you in anticipation.
