IF I read the article regarding the Croft Playpark correctly, a sum of £40,000 is required to equip it.
The charity raising the money has so far raised £10,000 and have been promised funding of £25,000 by another organisation (WREN). This leaves them with the task of raising another £5,000 in under a year.

Surely the town council should step forward and donate the money from the public purse to guarantee the funding.

The town gets a £40,000 investment in its kids for £5,000 and as for the proof of interest in the project what greater proof could be provided than the fact that the charity had already raised £10,000 and the whole town had given the balance to support them.
