Hairdressers to the rescue

I brought my friend into Pocklington on Good Friday for a visit and she tripped up on a lose paving stone just outside Beverley Building Society office.
My friend is 77 years old and was quite shaken up and cut her right knee.

I took her into Gemini hairdressers a few doors up; with it being Good Friday, many businesses were closed, but the ladies there were very kind and bathed and dressed her knee for her, and gave her refreshments to help settle her nerves.

I am writing this letter to the Pocklington Post in the hope it will be a warning to others to take care around this area – had my friend been frailer or fallen differently, the outcome could have been much more serious.

My letter is also a thank you to the staff of Gemini hairdressers who so kindly came to our aid in a moment of distress.

We were very grateful.
