I have just read the article about the Roll of Honour for Sancton's war veterans.
My father, George Moss, uncle, Joseph Moss and auntie, Althea Moss, are on the plaque. They are all now deceased but I feel sure they would have been very proud of the efforts of the gentlemen concerned. I wonder if you would be able to pass our thanks on to these gentlemen.

In 1962 my father and mother emigrated to Australia with five children, Howard, Susan, Elizabeth, Ronnie and John. The family grew to eight children over the next few years with Ken, Michael and Robert. The family settled in Adelaide, South Australia.

Dad passed away at 80 in 2001, but was a proud and fine upstanding soldier to the end. He was president of his local RSL Club (Returned Servicemen's League) several times over and led the Anzac Day parades many times.

He is survived by his wife Rene and seven of his eight children, 17 grandchildren and nine great-grand children.

Thank you again for your article and a big 'thank you' to the villagers for their efforts.

Susan Bowshall (nee Moss), Australia
