I am researching a documentary series on the men and women who worked on the Home Front during the Second World War to make weapons, unload ships, dig the coal, nurse the injured and produce the food that Britain needed to survive – and ultimately win – the war.
I would like to hear from people who worked in the aircraft and munitions industries, on the railways, in the mines, in the emergency services, by the sea and docks and on the land. All worked long hours, withstanding bomb attacks and separation from loved ones. I am interested in memories of the pride, camaraderie, danger and sacrifice made by young men and women. If you are in your 80s, 90s or 100s, and have a personal story to tell, or you know the stories of your late parents, grandparents or other relatives who may have lived through this era, please contact me:
