BEER lovers across the region can enjoy a tipple at a new beer festival in Sutton-on-Derwent on Saturday (16 March).

Woodhouse Grange Cricket Club has teamed up with Sutton-on-Derwent village hall to organise the Sutton Beer Festival, which will see a range of beers on offer, from dark mild to pale ales.

There will be 10 beers, a pilsner and two ciders available for locals to try during the event at the village hall.

Martin Smith, commercial manager at Woodhouse Cricket Club, said: “We have managed to put together a great selection of ales and ciders that will complement each other.”

Breweries who will be taking part on the day include Brass Castle in Pocklington, All Hallows in Goodmanham, and The Hop Studio in Elvington.

During the evening, there will be live music to keep drinkers entertained and BBQ food.

Tickets for the event, being held from 1pm to 11.30pm, cost £10 and include a programme, a commemorative glass sponsored by St Vincent Arms in Sutton-on-Derwent, and the first pint.

Call John Newlove 01904 608524 or Martin Smith 07977 459755 to buy tickets in advance or pay on the door at the festival.
