Snow White pantomime in Market Weighton

HUNDREDS of residents flocked to Market Weighton Community Players’ pantomime recently.

Snow White, written by Market Weighton resident Rosemary Waugh, was performed three times over three days to more than 600 people at The Market Weighton School.

It featured a cast of over 60, ranging from six-year-olds to pensioners.

The show included a variety of interesting characters of both local and national notoriety, from pop to politics, alongside some references to the original story.

Producer Bob Long said: “It’s always a joy to be working with one of Rosemary’s scripts.

“Her original ‘interpretations’ are so well structured and full of fun that when it comes to ‘persuading’ folk to be involved, they quickly engage with the energy and time required to bring the production to the stage.

“It was so rewarding to see the responses of our audiences and the energy and enthusiasm of such a large group of performers, supported by an amazing backstage and front-of-house crew.

“It’s my privilege not only to thank the hundreds of people who came along and supported us, but the whole Snow White team for showing such tremendous commitment, enthusiasm and faith in our adventure.”
