Fay’s marathon challenge
Fay Reddington
AFTER the death of her husband nearly two months ago, Fay Reddington was unsure whether she would be able to compete in this year’s London Marathon for charity.
But after much deliberation, the determined 39-year-old has decided she will enter the gruelling 26.2 mile run on 22 April in memory of her husband John, who died on 29 November, after suffering from kidney failure.
Fay will also be trying to raise £2,012 for the PSP Association, which is a charity dedicated to the support of people with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and the related disease Cortico Basal Degeneration (CBD), and those who care for them.
Speaking about her husband, she said: “I don’t think he would want me to give up. He is spurring me on from where he is.”
Fay lives in Bridlington but is well known in Pocklington and has been pounding the pavements of the town in preparation for the marathon.

l PSP is a rare degenerative brain disease which affects eye movement, balance, mobility, speech and swallowing.
