GOLFERS in the region can get into the swing of things at a charity golf day in Pocklington in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The tournament on 23 May, being organised by the BHF Pocklington and District Branch, will see teams of gents, ladies or mixed compete at the KP Club to raise vital funds which will go towards heart research, nurses and training.

Delia Smith, from the charity’s local branch, explained: “By taking part in this competition, golfers will be helping the BHF continue its life saving work.

“This is the second year we’ve held this event, last year everyone taking part had a great day and enjoyed raising money for BHF.

“We are hoping to attract corporate support and teams from golf clubs across North and East Yorkshire to raise funds for the nation’s heart charity.”

Golfers who wish to take part need a valid handicap certificate. The maximum handicap is 28 for men and 36 for women.

Teams of four can register by calling Delia Smith on 07752616923 or emailing her at dhsmith8@btinternet.com.
