A day of jazz and pzazz at Haisthorpe

JAZZ music coach and singer/songwriter Jenny Bray is running a jazz workshop at Woldgate Community Centre, Haisthorpe, on Saturday March 9 from 10am until 4pm .

With many recordings to her name, television, radio performances and high acclaim for a wide range of performances from her own original songs with six-piece band in New York, Jenny is offering a unique opportunity to anyone who is interested in playing or singing jazz.

The workshop tuition will be based on the international jazz course that was written by Rev. Raymond Eveleigh who was recently nominated for ‘Yorkshire Jazz Educator of the Year’.

The course has successfully transformed musician’s abilities of improvisation and performance skills across the Atlantic since 1993.

Rev. Ray is a renowned jazz musician and founder member of the Ray Eveleigh trio. Ray’s wife Brenda Kirk will be a consultant voice coach on the workshop. Brenda’s studies in music (specialising in Voice Production) were at the Royal Welsh College of Music.

Ray is a tutor on the workshop along with bassist Paul Baxter who was recently awarded both ‘European Jazz Soloist ‘and ‘Jazz Orchestra Composer and Arranger’ of the year.

The workshop is for people of all musical levels, from beginners to professionals. Past students have said: “Absolutely fantastic experience. I have now started playing regular blues gigs with my own band” and “I can’t read music or play by ear but the workshop was great – I couldn’t believe it was me making that music”.

To enrol on the workshop or for more information call Jenny 01377 255721 or 07726996110 or go to www.jennybraymusic.co.uk

Jenny’s Jazz Student Ensemble is regularly featured at the Burton Agnes Jazz Festival, Hull and Scarborough Jazz Clubs.
